Tinubu Administration Vows To Enhance Gas Sector And Investments_Verheijen.

The Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Mrs. Olu Arowolo Verheijen, emphasized that the administration led by Bola Tinubu remains committed to enhancing Nigeria’s business environment to attract more investments into the gas and energy sector.

Verheijen made these remarks during the Day 2 Plenary session of the Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) 2024 in Abuja.

Participating in a high-level panel alongside notable figures such as Haitham al-Ghais, Secretary General of OPEC, and Dr. Omar Farouk, Secretary General of APPO, Verheijen highlighted Nigeria’s pivotal role in global energy markets.

She underscored the administration’s dedication to increasing investments in the oil and gas sector while focusing on improving competitiveness to attract both local and foreign capital.

Verheijen elaborated on the administration’s strategy, emphasizing the importance of creating an attractive investment environment and leveraging initiatives like gas flare commercialization and carbon capture utilization.

She emphasized the need to transition towards sustainable energy practices while ensuring affordability and competitiveness in the global market.
