President Bola Tinubu expressed heartfelt appreciation for Chief Bisi Akande, former Osun State governor and key APC member, on his 85th birthday, as revealed in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
In the statement titled President Tinubu Celebrates His Longstanding Ally, Chief Bisi Akande, At 85, Tinubu highlighted their shared governorship from 1999-2003, emphasizing their Alliance for Democracy roots.
Celebrating Akande’s principled leadership and service to Nigeria, Tinubu praised his contributions to founding the APC and acknowledged him as a cherished confidant, lauding Akande’s commitment to progressive ideals.
In 2021, former President Muhammadu Buhari hailed Akande as a resilient democracy advocate, while in December 2023, Akande cautioned against labeling dissenting APC members as opposition agents.
