Tinubu has put a stop to the electricity tariff increase and defended the fuel subsidy, according to Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu.
Adelabu also announced a government investigation into the legality of the five-year license extension for privatized power companies and emphasized the need for regular and incremental power supply before implementing a cost reflective tariff.
He acknowledged the challenges in the power sector, expressed concern about the low power generation, and stated that non-performing executives in power agencies may be removed.
Adelabu emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing challenges in the sector while considering public welfare.
