Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the former Governor of Ekiti State, hailed President Bola Tinubu’s victory at the Supreme Court as a demonstration of fairness and justice by the apex court. The cases brought by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party challenging Tinubu’s win in the February 25 presidential election were dismissed by the Supreme Court.

In a congratulatory message issued by his media office, led by Ahmad Sajoh, Fayemi emphasized that this victory reinforced Tinubu’s electoral success, reflecting the trust Nigerians place in the APC and the President’s leadership capabilities.

He also called for a sense of humility in celebrating this victory, and as the former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Fayemi stressed the importance of an inclusive government. He urged President Tinubu to reach out to political competitors and foster unity.

Fayemi emphasized that in a democracy, one party’s success should be an opportunity for collaboration rather than a defeat for others. He appealed to the appellants to join hands with the President in the task of governing Nigeria and avoiding distractions, emphasizing that unity is crucial at this juncture.

Furthermore, Fayemi urged the President to prioritize the development, security, and prosperity of Nigeria above all else. He encouraged President Tinubu to use this victory as an opportunity to mend divisions in the country and build a more prosperous and inclusive Nigeria for all.
