Tragic Attack In Kaduna At A Religious Gathering, 7 Lost Their Lives, 16 Injured.

The Katsina State Police Command has officially confirmed that a total of seven individuals lost their lives, and 16 others sustained injuries during a violent assault by bandits at a religious gathering in Kusa town, Musawa Local Government Area.

The assailants, armed with dangerous weapons, including AK-47 rifles, stormed the event around 10 pm on Sunday, indiscriminately opening fire on attendees.

Promptly responding to the incident, the police successfully repelled the attack, although seven people tragically lost their lives.

Eighteen others, who had sustained gunshot wounds, were immediately transported to the General Hospital Musawa for medical treatment.

Unfortunately, two of the injured individuals did not survive their treatment.

The authorities are actively investigating this heinous act, and the community members reported that the bandits surrounded the religious gathering, causing injuries and abducting several individuals.

Some of the injured victims received medical care at Musawa General Hospital, while others were transported to the General Amadi Rimi Orthopedic Hospital in Katsina.

In response to the incident, Governor Dikko Radda visited the affected community to offer condolences and assure residents of the government’s commitment to restoring peace in the state.

The governor’s visit was well-received by the villagers, who commended his efforts in establishing a community watch corps and vowed to pray for his success in combating banditry.

Subsequently, the Katsina State Police Command confirmed that a total of nine individuals lost their lives in the Sunday attack.
