Iyanuoluwa Adamolekun, a 62-year-old grandmother, was gruesomely killed by assailants in her residence at Similoluwa area, Agbaluku Arigidi Akoko, Ondo state.
The shocking discovery was made by her granddaughter upon returning from school, prompting anxiety among the community residents.
The elderly woman’s lifeless body, found in a pool of blood, raised questions about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Rotimi Adamolekun, the deceased woman’s son, expressed shock and disbelief at the heinous act.
The corpse has been taken to the general hospital morgue while the state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed that an investigation is underway.
Assuring the public, Odunlami stated that police detectives are diligently working to unravel the mystery behind the murder.
Despite no suspects being arrested yet, she assured that the perpetrators would soon face legal consequences.
