The 1 Division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna has made significant strides in its ongoing efforts to combat insurgency within the state.
In an official announcement by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, via the Nigerian Army’s official channels, troops have achieved notable victories in recent confrontations across various operational zones.
During a patrol along the Maganda-Dausayi-Mugaba axis, insurgents engaged troops using rustled cattle as shields while initiating direct fire.
Despite the challenge, troops swiftly responded, resulting in the neutralization of two insurgents.
Additionally, they recovered weaponry including an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, ammunition, a Techno phone, vehicle and motorcycle keys, suspected narcotics, and cash.
In a separate operation along the Bada-Riyawa axis on the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road, troops executed a successful ambush, eliminating six insurgents and seizing two AK-47 rifles, magazines, and ammunition.
Intelligence reports suggest that notorious bandit kingpin Boderi, implicated in high-profile kidnappings, may have been among those neutralized, along with another kingpin, Bodejo.
Verification processes are ongoing to confirm this development, underscoring the relentless commitment of troops to eradicate armed violence within the region.
