WORKING VISIT:LGSC HARPS ON IMPROVED IGR, AS FAMUYIWA COMMENDS STAFF FOR THEIR DEDICATION TO WORK.

The Executive Chairman of Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Area, Lagos, Southwest, Nigeria,Engr David Oladapo Famuyiwa has commended workers of the council for their dedication to duties.


The council chairman gave the commendation on Tuesday,2nd July,2024, during the working visit of the Local Government Service Commission(LGSC) chairman and members to the council secretariat.


In his welcome address, Hon . Famuyiwa expressed his gratitude to the LGSC team for their regular visit to the council.He assured the commission that all efforts would be geared towards achieving the 240 million naira Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) target of the council, for 2024.

The council boss commended the management and staff of the council, for their dedication,hardwork, cooperation and loyalty to his administration since he assumed office.

The Local Government Service Commission (LGSC )chairman ,Hon. kamal Bayewu who was represented by Hon.Akeem Bamgbala (commissioner 1, representing, Lagos Division) appreciated the council boss for the good welfare package his administration has been providing to the staff.

He urged the council chairman, and officials in charge of revenue generation to intensify more efforts in increasing productivity in other to push up the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the council.


He stressed on the need for staff to be diligent and punctual at their various points of duty.

Mrs . Abosede George,the Permanent Secretary Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) who was also ably represented by Director of Recruitment,Discipline and Exit, Mr Sedotan Ogabi enlightened the staff on retirement guidelines.


If you want to leave service voluntarily, give six months notice provided you have spent 10 yrs in service as a pensionable staff or pay three months salary to the coffers of the government with evidence of payment.


He stressed that any staff below ten years will give one month notice or pay back a month salary.

Mrs Bibilomo Olushekun, Permanent Secretary, office of Local Government Establishment and Training, discussed about the on -going training for stagnated officers while assuring them of additional training in no distant future.

She urged the local government to celebrate officers who meritoriously retire from service, after working for the mandatory 35 years or clocked the retirement age of 60.

In his vote of thanks the council manager Mr. Olugbenga Shogbanmu expressed appreciation to the team for the working visit and for making the welfare of local government workers in Lagos State, their top priority.

The meeting was also attended by Mr Ahmed Seriki, Commissioner 11 in the LGSC, Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo, Commissioner 111, Mr Olubowale Shotimi, Commissioner 1V, Permanent Secretaries, Directors from the commission, Executive Committee members in Agbado-Oke Odo council,,management, Executive Members of Nigeria Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and generality of staff.
