The Zamfara State House of Assembly has initiated a three-day training program in Kaduna, overseen by the House’s Clerk, aimed at educating 24 lawmakers and parliamentary staff on the implementation of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and budgeting.
The Speaker, Alhaji Bilyaminu Moriki, expressed that this exercise is intended to prepare the lawmakers for the forthcoming 2024 budget, emphasizing the importance of successful 2024 budget execution and capacity building for fulfilling their legislative duties.
The goal is to ensure the efficient utilization of the annual appropriation law for the betterment of the state’s citizens, promoting harmonious cooperation with other branches of government.
The training received support from Governor Dauda Lawal, and the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu, highlighted the significance of IPSAS implementation for effective budgeting and oversight functions.
This training aims to equip the participants with essential knowledge in these areas. (:
